Happy 5th Anniversary!

A couple weeks ago, I had a custom request on Etsy for an anniversary card.  Based on the questions I asked and the specifics they gave me, I came up with a couple of choices.

Here's the one they didn't choose. :)

The specifics?
A Soft Suede card base, layer of Baja Breeze cardstock, then the retired Elegant Soiree Designer Paper.

The main image is stamped from the set "Memorable Moments" in Soft Suede and Baja Breeze.

After stamping, I cut out those beautiful shapes with the Labels Collections Framelits and the NEW Magnetic Platform - oh, my goodness!  It is sooo nice to work with!! The framelits stay in place so nicely - no moving around! :)

The flowers are from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlit set, and I cut the leaves in Wild Wasabi cardstock with the "Little Leaves" Sizzlit (and Big Shot). Oh yes...the top flower is from the itty bitty punch pack, actually. :)  I sponged the edges of the flowers, and then applied the half-back pearls.

Well, what do you think?  I think I'll be adding this to my Etsy site for purchase very soon! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Poppy Field Flowers

Okay, so yesterday's post was a warm-up card...and this one I like a little better. :)

Again, I used the Just Add Cake designer paper, and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch as a cute lacy edge. LOVE that punch! :)

This time, I inked up a new stamp set called Field Flowers, a 2-step stamping set (images perfect for layering).

Are you ready to see it? OK...here goes!
The base is Early Espresso cardstock.

I stamped the flowers and stems (outline stamps - there are more images) with Poppy Parade and Wild Wasabi ink on Whisper White cardstock.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink, and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. See the dark shadow behind it? It's a matching punch in Early Espresso!

Well, what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

The Remake

Remember yesterday's post?  I made an anniversary card, but then just couldn't part with it?  I kept it, then had to start all over with a new card to give away. :)

It actually was hard to give this one up, too! lol

As you'll see, there's actually quite a few things that are similar between the two (yesterday & today's).

The colors - Took away: Early Espresso, Kept: White, Marina Mist & Wild Wasabi
The stamps - Kept them - Just Believe, A Word For You
The ribbon - Changed from Early Espresso to Marina Mist - actually, I made my own Marina Mist ribbon by coloring my white taffeta with my marker! :)

NEW - The card base is embossed with the Big Shot & Finial Press embossing folder
NEW - Did you see the itty bitty pearls up in the RH corner? Sooo cute. Those were at the top of my list. A whole pkg. of adhesive-backed pearls (150 ct) for $4.95!!

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)

Cardstock: Whisper White, Marina Mist

New, New, NEW!

Last week, I needed to make some anniversary cards.
However, I was feeling a bit...mojo-less. ;-)

So I broke out my handy NEW Color Coach from Stampin' Up, and found my new fave color combo! :)
(the bottom one)

And came up with THIS:

Love, love, love it!  So much, that I decided I couldn't part with it! lol! :)  I decided to keep it for a new sample, since I always have a lot of samples out at parties, and I'm running low on usable ones (without retired product on them)!

Anywho...back to the project at hand.  I used new product from the Stampin' Up 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog! :)

NEW color coach (love it)!

NEW colors!  Wild Wasabi is a returning InColor that's now a part of the new Core Color Collection.  Early Espresso and Marina Mist are totally NEW colors that are also part of the Core Color Collection!

NEW stamp sets!  The sentiment is from "A Word For You," and the flowers (colored with my markers) are from "Just Believe."

NEW ribbon, too! :)  It's our lucious taffeta in the new color, Early Espresso.

Well, what do you think?

Ink: Early Espresso

A New Kind of Flower

FIRST:  Take a look at the RH sidebar...there are two new pictures that you can click on.  At the top, the link to the new Holiday Mini catalog!  At the bottom, a special deal...something tote-ally awesome you can get for FREE by joining my SU family! :)

*And now, on to our regularly scheduled program...*
(speaking of...I've got a lot of upcoming projects to show you...been on a creatin' frenzy!! YAY!)

I made my own flowers!
Out of RIBBON! :)

Wanna see?
Here's the card I made for my parents' anniversary:

A nice, CAS card.  Wanted the flowers to be the true focalpoint, so I didn't add a whole lot extra.  The white base is embossed with polka dots, added a few leaves (sizzlit), a sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes), and I was done! Now, if only it really took that little time to make, lol.  Well, now that I've made the flowers, I think it'll go faster in the future. ;-)

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon (retired), Circle punch, Adhesive, Leaves sizzlit, Big Shot

Owl Love You Forever, Part 2

Yes, I suppose I could've been a little more creative in my naming of this post, but really...it makes sense.  I made another card, just like the one on Monday's post (see here)...only changing one thing.

Would you like to take a look?  OK. :)

They're sittin' on a little woodgrain this time! :)

Literally. :)  I stamped our BG stamp "Woodgrain" in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. Then, I sponged a bit with Crumb Cake, and Close To Cocoa (retired).

I can't decide which one I like best.  What do YOU think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, More Mustard, Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Afternoon Tea DSP
Ink: Crumb Cake
Accessories: 2way glue pen, Unibal Signo gel pen, XL 2step Owl punch, XL 2step Bird punch

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT day! :)

Owl Love You Forever

Pun intended. ;-)

I'm so excited to unveil the sweet lil' lovebird card I made for my bro and his wife for their 6th Wedding Anniversary!

How did I make those adorable owls?  With a PUNCH!!!  Seriously...a new Stampin' Up punch!  It's one that I saw and thought...Yes. Yup. Need that one. :)  I've finally played around with it (I have more projects to share soon), and I was right...it's so fun!

I used a lot of green b/c it's her fave color. :) The leaves are from another great punch, the 2step Bird Punch.  What I love about the owl punch is that it comes with the little heart, even!  I used that heart to make the beak, AND  the bow by the female owl's ear (is it called that?)

You're wondering about the DSP, aren't you?  Well, I'm sorry to say, it's a retired one...called "Afternoon Tea."  I'm trying to give up my DSP hoarding habits. ;-)

Well, what do you think?
