Twitterpated Baby

A strange title, isn't it? I just couldn't resist a play on words. ;-b
There's actually a very simple explanation.

I made a baby card.
Featuring "Twitterpated" designer paper. :)

See? That simple. :)
Would you like to take a look?  Ok.

Simply sweet. Love that kind of card. :)

Card base is Blushing Bride cardstock, then  Whisper White cardstock, then the Twitterpated designer paper, then more of the White and Blushing Bride again. :)

The main image is the stamp Packed for Baby from the Occasions Mini. I stamped it once on the Whisper White cardstock with Stazon Black ink, then stamped the buggy part again, colored it, cut it out, and put it on top of the white with dimensionals.

Finished it off with our White Satin ribbon, and you have a baby card!  I plan on adding this to my Etsy shop soon. :)

Well, what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Ten Tiny Toes

Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes...

My mom, SILs, & I are going to be hosting a baby shower for a cousin-in-law of mine, who recently had a baby boy. Guess who was on invitation duty? ;-)

I thought on it for awhile, and came up with something I liked...assembly was the "easy" part. It was all the cutting, stamping, embossing, etc...that took all my time! :)

Ready for the end result?
OK. :)

Everything is SU except for the baby feet stamp. I got that AGES ago (10 years??) when I started stamping, and it's one of my non-SU stamps I've kept for such an occasion. ;-)

Supplies: Bashful Blue & Whisper White cardstock, Big Shot, Polka dot embossing folder, Bashful Blue gingham ribbon

Well, what do you think? I'd love to hear from you! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

A Special Moment

In yesterday's post, I was telling you about how busy our March has been...mostly with birthdays, but other special occasions as well.  One of those special occasions was a baptism for my niece.  What a sweet, tender, special moment that is.

I made a card for her/her parents to commemorate the moment.
I have made this type before, but this time I did it a little differently.
First, I'll show you the most recent card (made for my niece).

The design is made with the Big Shot & the Manhattan Flower (?) embossing folder. The ribbon is from my stash...I have no idea where originally from. :-b

I was kind of bummed when I figured out that I was out of the tiny ribbon used on my last ones (see below)...but I really like how this one turned out with the bigger ribbon, too! :)

Here are the two I got my inspiration from:

These were made in May 2009 - funny thing is, one of them was for her sister! :)

Well, what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Welcome, Baby Boy!

No, I did not have a baby boy, nor am I expecting.
No, my SIL did not have a baby boy (she's due Sat - don't know if girl/boy - can't wait to meet the little one!!!!)
My FRIEND had a baby boy! :)

I had a little gift I wanted to send her, and of course I wanted to make a matchy-matchy card. However, I was trying to get the card done before getting to the post office on time, so it may not be as 'neat' as some of my other cards (by the way, I didn't make it in time and had to wait until the following Monday). :(

Anyways, that's to explain the not-so-good quality pics I am about to show you. The background is not my usual...this time, it is the tissue for wrapping the gift, lol! :)

I got to use one of my NEW stamp sets, called "A Slice of Life" - it's a Hostess one from the mini catalog.  Ready? OK!

A bit simple, perhaps. But like I said, I was in a bit of a hurry to get this out on time, and baby cards don't need to be complicated, right?  I am drawn more and more to the CAS type of card. I know she knows that love and thought went into it, even if it isn't some big wonderful card. It's cute! :)

The next picture shows where I got my color scheme from...wish I could've shown all of it (there was a blue/blue striped onsie in there as well), but like I said...just tried to get a snapshot quick before running to the post office...

The colors I used are Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and Night of Navy.  I kinda like it!  I like that the onsie matches one of the onsies I gave her, too. :)  I'm just that way, lol.

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: A Slice of Life, A Word for You
Ink: Black Stazon, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, 1/4" bashful blue gg ribbon, Ink pad lids, Blender pens

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Making the Cut

Today I'm back to show you the baby shower invitation mentioned in this post, AND the one that didn't make the cut (the original).

Remember, it's definitely NOT my favorite creation, but what I did with the colors I had to work with (bright pink & orange).  Let's just say it didn't inspire me for some reason. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I did a few things, then decided to take a minimalist approach with the colors. ;-)

Well, here goes (don't laugh), lol.

The difference b/w the pink (Melon Mambo) and orange (Pumpkin Pie) isn't real obvious until you click on the pic to view it closer. ;-).

Here's the original...the one I made, but then we decided to change the colors from pastel to bright. :)

The pastel (Pretty in Pink) is my fave...which one is YOURS?

The Small Print (Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: Basic Gray
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4" circle punches, Paper piercer, SU markers

That's all...back tomorrow with a great NON-BABY creation! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Baby, Baby!

An old Amy Grant song just popped into my head as I wrote that title, lol.  Anyone out there remember that one?  Man, that seems like ages ago....

Today is another baby card post.  Sadly...not the invite. Yet. ;-)

Some more super-quick, super-easy 3x3 gift cards.
(yes, they'll be at the Market tomorrow, too!)

I realized after I took the pic, that it didn't show up well. Looks like I need to re-ink my ink pads! :)

This is another stamp from the set "Baby Bundle" I borrowed from my friend.

You can click on the pic to try to see the words (and little hearts underneath), but I'll also tell you what it says... "bottles and bibs, booties and more - that's what a baby shower is for!"

The scallop circle is a new XL punch from Stampin' Up - yay! :)  Of course, they've got dimensionals behind them to make them 'pop'. :)

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Baby Bundle
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Pale Plum, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Ink: Bashful Blue, Pale Plum, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Accessories: 2 3/8" XL Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/4" XL Circle punch, Dimensionals

Rainbow of Onsies

I've been working on some more baby shower invitations.

I knew I wanted to use onsie from the NEW set "Baby Bundle" from the new catalog, so I borrowed it from my sweet demo friend - thanks Bev! :)

I'm still deciding whether to show it here or not (it's NOT my fave)...you'll just have to stay tuned! ;-)

While I had the set, I decided to make up some quick 3x3's with the same little onsie I used on the invites. :) Planning on selling these at the local Gardener's Market this week...they're the perfect topper for a baby gift! :)

Pink, Apricot, Yellow, Green Blue, and Lavender!  Hence, the post title. ;-)

It's a pretty small pic...sorry. Click on it to view larger.  I can't decide whether to have them in the basket of other 3x3's, or try to sell them as a set.

Well, what do you think?

Happy Birthday, Baby!

Well, she's not exactly a baby anymore...my oldest turned 6 today.  I love her more than words can say, and it's been so fun to see her change and grow so much, this last year especially...so proud of her!

What a CRAZY week this has been!  The "normal" cleaning, laundry, dinner, school, and the "extra" Centers (help out @ class), first-ever soccer practice, oh, and the EXTRA cleaning. You know, the kind you remember when guests are coming (wink).

Oh, and...a few more projects.  There has been a different kind of 'crafting' around here this week...

But first, I'll show you the invitation (my normal crafting)... we've gone with a butterfly theme this year, as you will see. ;-)

Cupcakes brought to class yesterday...

Cake for her 1st "friend" party (girls from class) for today...

A "Pin The Antennae on the Butterfly" poster...looks better IRL. ;-)

And the goody bags (crafts included)...but I'll save that for tomorrow. ;-)

Happy Birthday my beautiful, wonderful daughter!
I love you soooooooooooo much!! :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Matchy-Matchy, Baby!

Remember my last post HERE about Sweet Pea baby shower invitations?

I told you I'd post the card I made to go with my gift...

I asked you to guess when you thought I made it, but no one did.  No one even tried!  Good thing I'm not taking it personally, lol! ;-)

Well, following my...ahem...tradition (this post), I made the card within an hour of arrival at the shower. ;-)  Here's the great part...it only took me about 7 minutes from start to finish! :)

As you can see (if you clicked above to view invite)...it MATCHES!
Just enough difference to know it's not the invitation, just enough to make it match! :)

See the sparkle on the celery matting around the sweet pea?  Ahhh...one of my fave techniques for a CAS card! :)

Well, what do you think?

Baby, Baby, Baby...

....everyone's havin' babies! :-)

I recently co-hosted another baby shower for a gal in our small group.  She doesn't know whether it's a girl or boy, so we tried to be neutral in our color/image choice for the invitation.

I suggested this stamp that I just *ADORE* for baby cards...

Now, I will warn you...this is not a new stamp.  It's from a retired Stampin' Up set called "Event Full"...and this is my absolute favorite stamp from that set:

Oh, the picture can't even do it justice!!  It's such a little cutie! :)

Soon, I'll post the card I made to give her with her shower gift.  Any guesses as to when I actually made the card for the shower? ;-)

Baby Card...and Procrastination

Are all cardmakers like this, or is it just ME that procrastinates?

I've had the gift for oh...probably 3 weeks or so.
Yet, when do I make the card?

Same day it's needed, of course! ;-)

Here's a simple card you can make in a hurry. Though this one is for a baby girl gift, all you would have to do is change the sentiment and it could be used for almost any occasion! :-)

The butterflies all came from ONE SU Sizzix embosslit, "Beautiful Wings"....it's in the Occasions mini! :-)

The "Small Wonder" sentiment is part of a FREE stamp set you can earn during Sale-A-Bration!

How did I attach them to card base?  With our mini glue dots, of course!  Love how it leaves the rest of the butterfly free, so you can lift wings upward a bit...make them look like they're really flying! :-)

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Whimsical Words

Ink: Pretty in Pink

Makeover Monday

Ha ha, not for me --- I wish!  How fun would THAT be?! :)

A makeover of the crafting variety....still fun! ;-)

Purchase journal at the dollar section of popular craft store.
Decide the cover is just NOT what you're looking for.

Especially if it's for the mom of an 11 month old
(my recent Stampin' Up Hostess).
You'll see why in a minute. :)

Cover said journal with super-cute designer paper.
(Pawsitively Prints from Stampin' Up!)

Much better, but still a little boring...no?

Okay...I'll add a little more. :)

Okay, how cute is THAT?!!
I made a die-cut out of Stampin' Up!'s
Sizzix Build A Bear collection!  Designer clothes & all! ;-)

I also made a matching pen but forgot to include it in the pic - you'll just have to imagine the super cuteness.

I wish I had a notebook to write down all the things I want to remember about my kiddos...the funny things they say & do...you know, the daily stuff that you may not remember otherwise.
The stuff that comes *after* the baby book. ;-)

Well, that's all for today...
I hope I've inspired you to give a makeover gift of your own! :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Mom's Vitamins...and More

So, remember the baby shower that I co-hosted awhile back?
The one I crazily made 21 adorable baby onsie invites for?
Well, the crafting didn't stop there, lol.

First....whatever could this be?

Oh, you want to know?  You want to see the rest of it?
Okey-dokey. :)

Hmmmm....still not making sense?
How bout now?

Ha ha...I just love the ditty on this bottle of "Mom's Vitamins".
I've done these shower gift/game bottles before
(found online eons ago). So fun!

Attendees guess how many M&Ms are in the bottle, and the closest one wins a prize.
Sadly, the bottle is not the prize - nope, it goes to the new mom. ;-)

***
Do you want to see more?  OK, I'll show you.
I made this little coaster scrapbook titled:
"Mom to Mom"
Each attendee wrote their bit of wisdom on a page.

It's not my handwriting...it's a computer font. :)

Look close at the buttons....see the thread?

It's actually cardstock - made to match the colors used in the book!

Well, that's all for today....hope you enjoyed the gift ideas!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Baby Boy Shower Invites

I realize that until now, I haven't shared anything "crafty" here. That is about to change. :)

I'm co-hosting a baby shower with a friend, and since I love papercrafting, there was no question whether or not to volunteer to make the invites. Of course I did! :) After volunteering, the guest list numbers were revealed. Yes, TWENTY ONE on the guest list. I'll admit it...I thought about taking her up on the offer of going to Walmart & (gulp) purchasing some invites. But, I just can't do that!! Not when it is my passion, and I have the supplies!

I had pretty much decided on a super-cute invite, but decided to make a few other (5) options for co-host to decide between, since 21 of those super-cute ones would take a lot of time...maybe I'd get lucky & she wouldn't choose that one!

Guess which one she liked best? Yup. My fave too. ((SIGH))....

At least 3 hours and 12 steps later....

It was tedious, yes.
But, when I look at the finished stack of 21 baby onsie invites beside me...it is a smile of satisfaction and joy. Ahhh....I must be crazy. :)

The small print:
