Just Add Texture!

I've discovered something.
You know how most of us (me included) have a hard time thinking up/making masculine cards?

Since most guys don't fully appreciate a handmade card, I've learned to simplify when I can.  Not saying the person I made this for doesn't appreciate my cards - I believe that he does. :)  I'm just sharing with you that an easy way to make a guy's card is to include texture, and a simple message. No fru-fru frilly stuff like ribbons! lol

JUST ADD TEXTURE! :)

Here's a card I made earlier this summer:

A simple guy card.  Now I'll admit...it was a bit difficult to make the texture on this one, because of the "cardstock" I used.  I used the big shot texturx plate in combination with....can you guess what?

ETA: The answer is in THIS POST (click on it).

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Happy Everything
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Star punches, Black brad, Dimensionals, Sizzix Texturz Plate, Big Shot

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

  3. Thank's for the great comment on my blog Crystal. Came over to yours to return the favour and was bowled over by this masculine card! I agree men like it simple, no frills, and some kind of movement in the card....... that gets them every time! Love your blog, I saw you on SC and I'm now following you. PS I think the background is aluminum from a can.

  4. WOW! This is a GREAT card. If I am correct, you used aluminum foil covered card stock. This is truly a stunning card. Thanks for blessing my day - and welcome back! :))))

  7. Another vote for aluminum foil here! Great idea for a masculine card! I totally agree the men just don't care about anything frilly, so this is perfect!

  10. Love the card!!! I don't think it's aluminum foil - - - that's too thin. Must be aluminum from a can? Can't wait to find out the answer!
