Sweet Pea Heart Box

So. Ya wanna see somethin'?
I made this little box...it's pretty neat.
Perfect for something...some little treat.

See, see, it's quite neat!

Yes, we've been reading Green Eggs & Ham around here... ;-)

What's a box without a treat?
Would you like a peak at the treat?

Hee hee hee...this is one of THEE best treats around, wouldn't you agree?! :)  You're wondering how many fit in this lil' box? I'll show you!

Four of them fit perfectly.

Come to think of it, you could maybe fit another layer on top...I'm not quite sure.  You'd have to have some left in the bag to try it now, wouldn't you? ;-)

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts
Paper: Bashful Blue, Kraft, and Shimmer White cs, Sweet Pea DSP

Ink: Bashful Blue, So Saffron
Accessories: Heart to Heart Punch, 1/2" circle punch, So Saffron brad, Dimensional

*Idea taken from our SU Demonstrator Connections website - a video by Angie Juda!

Well, what do you think?  Would YOU have any left in the bag? ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Sweet Pea Gift

So, I had an epiphany the other day.
A lightbulb probably DID ding above my head it was that sudden! :)

I was struggling with my B&BW* body wash bottle...it's been this way from the beginning...ugh...sqeeze with all your might, every time, just to get a bit out!!  I've put up with it for too long, really.

Don't ask why it took until the very end of the bottle for me to think of this (roll eyes), but now I'm thankful my mind was on crafting while showering! lol...

How about putting it into a small container to present as a gift idea?  I'm ready to move onto the next flavor anyways. ;-) IRL, it all coordinates beautifully. ;-)

Introducing: Sweet Pea body wash in new lil' container, decorated with Sweet Pea DSP and Pretty in Pink satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini!  The tag is made with "Vintage Labels," free to you during SAB!  If you click on the pic, you'll see behind "For You" I lightly stamped a swirl from the Vintage Vogue set (Occasions mini).

Well, what do you think?  I'm starting to wonder if there are people out there actually liking these ideas! lol

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Vintage Labels
Paper: Whisper white cs, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, Curly Label Punch
Other: Small toiletry bottle, B&BW Sweet Pea body wash
* FYI: I've never had a problem with B&BW products before...this is in no way a disuasion to purchase.  I just happened to have a bum bottle! :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Spring Bird With A Message

Would you like to see another project using NEW stuff from Stampin' Up?!  You would?

I'd be happy to oblige.
See, I told you I've been busy makin' stuff! ;-)

I am soo excited to share this one with you!  I've been hanging onto it for awhile....didn't want to put it in the middle of all the Valentiney stuff. ;-)

WHEW!  So much to explain! :)

First of all, I'll say the only things that AREN'T new, are: cardstock, brads, and birthday message stamp.  The rest is ALL from the Occasions Mini (see sidebar)...please contact me to place an order! :)

The bird, his wing, AND the growing leaves below are ALL from one punch! :)

The message from my Spring bird is part of the "happy birthday" stamp from a set called Stem Sayings.  I popped him up on dimensionals...cause you know how much I love those. ;-)  His wing is from the Sweet Pea DSP pack.

The flowers and grass are from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit.

And now comes the BEST part.  The fence!
How on earth did I make that?

I got the idea from uber-talented Jackie Topa.  Actually the whole fenceline/flowers/grass portion of this card is pretty much her design.  I changed the growing leaves part a little, and the rest of the card is mine, but the fenceline thing is hers. She has a great little set here...look in the back, at the card holder. That's where my idea is from. Thanks Jackie! :)

Anywho...the fence is made by cutting strips of white cardstock, and punching off the ends with the NEW medium jewelry tag punch! :)

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Stem Sayings
Cardstock/Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Sweet Pea Designer Paper
Ink: Going Gray, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Eggcellent Eggs kit, Stampin' Sponge, Extra Lg Two-Step Bird punch, Medium Jewelry Tag punch, Soft subtles brads, SNAIL, Dimensionals, Thread

Well, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Makeover Monday

Well Hello There!
It's once again time for Makeover Monday! :)

I was perusing the $ section of a local store last week and found something that stopped me in my tracks.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

That's not always the case, ya know.

Most of the time, I grab something thinking, "I could use this for something someday." As a result, I have a tote of "alterable" items in the garage (much to my hubby's dismay).  ;-)

Anywho...sorry for the sidetrack there.
Here's what I found:

A pretty journal for $1.00.  Not too bad, eh?

I looked at this item for $1.00, and said "Oooh...that looks like a perfect match for Lavendar Lace (SU color)!"  I knew exactly what I could add to it...something new, something so easy...to make it even BETTAH!!!  I promptly put it in my cart and brought it home.

It surely WAS a perfect match - awesome!  So, I brought out a couple new items from the Occasions Mini, and....

Oh yeah, babey.  FIVE butterflies out of one little embosslit. LOVE IT!  Seriously.  Awesome!!!

Embosslit: a little Sizzix (SU) die that cuts out AND embosses the item!!  Go ahead, click on the pic and you'll see the embossing (raised decorative areas) even better!

I decided that wasn't enough, so I added the miniature rhinestones from the Eggcellent Eggs kit to give it a bit of somethin' somethin'. :)

It took me less than...oh...10 minutes.  Maybe even 5.

I'll admit, to the ribbon-loving queen that I am....it DOES need a matching lavendar ribbon along the LH side.  It almost pains me to post it without one, lol!  However, I don't have any, and I did try a few others (white), but it just didn't seem right.  I'll keep looking....oh, and I'll probably make a matching pen. :)

I was just so excited about my find, that I wanted to show you asap! :)

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up except "Other")
Paper: Lavendar Lace cs
Accessories: "Beautiful Wings" embosslit, Eggcellent Eggs kit, Mini glue dots
Other: $1.00 journal (5x7 size)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT Monday! :)

Stampin' Up! and You...Make A Difference!

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. You can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake, by purchasing the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until February 28, 2010, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts set sold, to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relif and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

In addition to the funds raised from the sale of this stamp set, Stampin' Up! purchased supplies and assembled 5,000 hygiene kits to send to Haiti. Check Shelli Gardner's blog for more information about this effort and photos of Stampin' Up! employees assembling the kits.

Please contact me if you'd like to place an order.

Thank you for stopping by, and have a GREAT day!

Friendly Valentine Treat

In following with the theme of the last few days...

Here's a little treat for your friend, using the same "I {Heart} Hearts" set!

This is a 2-5-7-10 box...stamped with the dotted heart from the same I {Heart} Hearts* in whisper white ink!

I cut the top flap a little shorter, to show off the dotted hearts a little more. ;-)

The pretty white scallop on the flap is made with our new scallop trim punch, FREE during Sale-A-Bration! :)

The rectangle is made with same punch, plus the scallop trim corner punch from the Occasions Mini.

The friend heart is stamped, punched with our large heart punch, then layered onto the SU Sizzlit Embosslit Scalloped Heart die (in red)...then popped up on dimensionals, of course. ;-)

Tied with our lucious white satin ribbon to finish it off! :)

*Remember, Stampin' Up will donate $2 from every sale of this "I {Heart} Hearts" set to the American Red Cross to aid Haiti Disaster Relief!!! Contact me today to place your order!

You Stole My Heart!

Thanks for hanging in there...I've been a bit busy around here....boy am I glad to be back online! :) I have a few projects lined up, so please continue to stop by!

((Now, back to the regularly-scheduled program...))

Hey, you stole my heart!!!
Hee hee...

This one of those cards that when finished, you say "FINALLY!" and toss it aside to hopefully never lay eyes on it again!  lol....OR you take it out and gaze at it over and over, trying to determine if you did everything possible to make it work right. Ha ha...I'm a mix of both on this one. ;-)

I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out, but it took me a few days of working on it here and there, to get to that point. ;-)

I used the new set "Love Bandit" from the Occasions Mini (see RH sidebar).

I do need to give credit to gallery member scrapnforfun on SCS for the idea of these rolling grass hills - thank you for your inspiration! :)

What do you think?  I personally love the fluffy white cloud on the LH side...ahhh so cute! :)

Weathered Birdie

Here's another card made this week...

A masculine "Thinking of You" card without actually saying so. ;-)
Something I really like about this card is that it could be used for many occasions!

Oh, and I love that I was able to use some of my new stuff! ;-)

Well, most of it new to me, anyways.
The BG stamp is Stampin' Up's "Woodgrain", the bird is from Stampin' Up's "Friends 24-7".

The 5/8" satin ribbon IS new...it's in the Occasions Mini catalog.  Have you checked it out yet?  Oh my....it's WONDERFUL!!  So many fun things in there! Go ahead, go to the RH sidebar & click on the pic! :)

Anyways....here's a bit of what I did:
  • I lightly colored the main image with my watercolor crayons and aquapainter...didn't want too much color to overwhelm the project.  Popped the main image up on dimensionals.
  • I sponged the edges, into the BG, and around the main image with Close to Cocoa ink, added a punched out piece of "Thoroughly Modern" DSP behind the clear button, tying the linen thread for the finish!
The Small Print (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Friends 24-7, Woodgrain BG
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Cardstock/Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Thoroughly Modern DSP
Accessories: Sponges, Watercolor crayons, Aquapainter, Clear button, Linen Thread, Pop-up glue dot, Dimensionals

Well, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! :)

Celebrate Good Times

You have that song in your head now, don't you? ;-)

In life, there are good times and bad.
It's important to celebrate the good times, am I right?! :)

Remember back in this post, I told you my brother was in the midst of all those awful CPA exams?  Since then, he's been notified on two more test results...and he is DONE!  He finished, he passed all the tests (4?), he is on his way to CPA! ;-)

So I made him this card to celebrate the occasion. :)

It was nighttime when I finished, so the picture quality isn't all that great...IRL, all the stars shimmer a bit. :)

Well, what do you think?

The Small Print
Stamps: Celebrate Everything
Cardstock: Basic Black, Brushed Silver, Whisper White, old DSP

Accessories: Large and small star punches, dimensionals

Blog Candy Winner!

Sorry for the delay...
Yesterday was an emotionally draining day.  The funeral was very hard, but beautiful too...a wonderful tribute. Please continue to hold this family up in your prayers.

I woke this morning with a cold, yuck!  Needless to say, I'm feeling a little "blah" today between the emotions and the cold, but rather than wait until I "feel like it," (since I know you're all waiting with baited breath - ha!) to hear who won the blog candy, I decided I'd better figure that out! :)

I first want to say a big Thank You to all who have been visiting my lil' blog, and to those who left comments - THANK YOU very much! :)   Please continue to visit! (oh, and continued comments are great, too). ;-)

I used Random.org to find the winner.
Drumroll please....

Saying Goodbye...

...to loved ones is one of the hardest things in a person's life.

You know, I've often said masculine cards are the hardest to make.

I've changed my mind.

Today, many people will be saying "goodbye" to a local man who died tragically last week in a farming accident.  He was only 30 years old, and it has rocked our small community to the core.

A sympathy card for such an occasion is difficult to make.  Especially when you know the people personally...related multiple ways, grow up with them, go to church with them, your children go to school together...

Crying many tears, my heart aches at the devastation that his sweet young wife, three precious daughters, father, mother, sisters, brother, in-laws, family, friends, and collegues must be feeling.  Though he was a Christian and is now with his Heavenly Father, I have struggled with this situation. I am not questioning God...I do trust that this happened for a reason.  But my aching heart is having trouble grasping the whys, and hurting for those who love him most.

I *finally* came up with a card that I'm okay with.  It has been a struggle, though I know that this card doesn't matter much in the scope of things.  But it is my way of saying "I'm sorry" and I want it to be perfect for that.  Does that make sense?

((Deep breath))

Sorry this is so long....I wanted to not only give the background to explain the card, but to reach out there and ask YOU to pray for these families, too.  Please do.

Here's what I came up with:
...a Praying for You card (with a masculine touch)

The Small Print (All Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
Paper/Cardstock: To The Nines DSP, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Soft Suede & Always Artichoke markers, Soft suede ribbon, Large oval punch, Dimensionals

I participated in a challenge over at SCS today...my third challenge this week - YAY! :)  Feels good to do that again...it's been quite awhile.

This is definitely not my favorite card this week, but it works for the challenge, so I'm posting it anyways. ;-)

It was a Limited Supplies Challenge:
1) Make a card to tell someone you love them.
2) Use only white, red, pink, & black (not necessarily all).
3) Incorporate polka dots.

This is what I came up with:

The ribbon matches better IRL. ;-)
Well, what do you think?

Pawsitively Happy Lion!

I am soooooo excited about this card!!
It's one of those that makes me want to dance a happy dance! :)

Yup.  This one's for realsies!  Sorry...three cups of coffee may be a bit much for me. :)

I've been wanting to try to make a Tri-Fold Shutter card for some time now, and today I attempted it.  Succeeded, methinks.  In this picture are two sneak peek items.  Can you guess what they are?

First:  Mr. Lion.  He's from the new set "Fox & Friends" in the upcoming Occasions Mini catalog.
Second: Happy Birthday is from the new set "Well Scriped," also in the Occasions mini.  Sooo excited!! :)

The DSP called "Pawsitively Prints" is from the current (about to end) mini catalog.  It's part of our Build-A-Bear collection. Love it! :)

So there ya go....PAWSITIVELY (paper), HAPPY (birthday...and me, cause I love this card), LION (well, duh)! ;-)

I don't know about you, but I *loved* putting up a fresh, clean calendar yesterday.

Not that my year was bad...it was a good year, actually! :)  It just feels nice to have a fresh start (with a few resolutions, lol). I'm excited, and hopeful for what this new year will bring.  One of my hopes is that you'll continue on with me in this whole blogging journey! :)

That's all for now...but I'm working on a post I'm suuuuper-thrilled about...so we'll see you soon! :)
